Christchurch Cathedral Square's latest edition, The Spark Building!
If you have been for a stroll through Christchurch City Centre during lockdown levels, then you would have been hard-pressed to miss the brand new Commercial Spark Building, located on Hereford St & Colombo Street Corner.
Spark is the first new building in the Cathedral Square since the earthquakes, developed by Nexus Point Ltd. Working closely with Sheppard and Rout Architects and local builders Naylor Love, the building took three years of design and construction.
Max Projects have been so fortunate to be part of the construction of this grand site with Naylor Love. Project Manager Michael Pepper had this to say:
"I am very proud of the work that we have done on the Spark project, and everyone who has been involved should share this sense of achievement. Thank you to the Max team for the opportunity and support throughout this challenging but beautiful project."
Inside the Spark building, you will soon start to see a mix of tenants within luxury retailers and food and drink tenants on the ground lobby floor. So far, only Spark has committed to the tenancy and are set to move in with over 500 staff.
The building has replaced the previous demolished BNZ House, the Allied Assurance building and Christchurch Community House.
