Dairy Assistants - Two Roles Available

About the Role: Our client requires two people to join their team from June 2025 for the upcoming dairy season. Located near Rakaia, Canterbury, the farm milks 1,850 cows through an 80-bail rotary shed. The farm is committed to maintaining a productive and sustainable operation, focusing on animal welfare, efficient farm management, and continuous improvement. Utilizing a combination of modern technology and best farming practices, the team ensures the herd remains healthy, well-fed, and productive throughout the season. With a well-equipped rotary shed and structured farm operations, the farm provides an excellent environment for those looking to advance their dairy career. ‍Remuneration Package:‍

• Hourly rate: $25 - $26/hour
• On-farm accommodation provided
• Roster 6/2

Roles and Responsibilities:‍

• Milking and shed management
• Monitoring animal health and assisting with treatments
• Supporting daily farm operations and guiding new team members
• Setting up and taking down temporary electric fences
• Irrigation and effluent system maintenance
• General farm maintenance and machinery operation
• Assisting with calving and calf rearing

Role Requirements:‍

• Strong English and communication skills
• Positive attitude with a willingness to learn
• A strong interest in working with livestock
• Can follow farm routines independently and take initiative
• Committed to following health and safety protocols
• Confident operating farm equipment for feeding, maintenance, and general farm work.
• Pre employment drug test
