What's Involved In Being A Steel Fixer?
As a Steel Fixer, you'll be responsible for strengthening buildings and other large structures by using steel bars and mesh in reinforced concrete. You'll cut, shape, and fit the steel bars into the concrete, and may clip, weld, or wire structural steel materials into place. You'll work on a variety of construction projects, including high-rise buildings, hospitals, houses, and schools. Your responsibilities may also include building cages, collaborating with engineering designers, and following engineering or technical plans to set out the work area.
